Greece abolishes fees for cash withdrawals from bank ATMs

The new regulation also limits fees from third-party providers to 1.50 euros per transaction

The regulation of the Greek Ministry of National Economy and Finance, which abolishes fees for cash withdrawals from Greek bank ATMs, enters into force today, reports „Kathimerini“.

According to the new rules, fees for withdrawals from third-party ATMs are limited to a maximum of 1.50 euros per transaction.

The regulation provides for the following:

Zero fees for cash withdrawals between all banks included in the DIAS banking system.

Abolition of all fees from third-party providers if they have a direct or indirect capital relationship with the customer's bank.

Zero fees from third-party providers in settlements where there is only one ATM.

A threshold of 1.50 euros for withdrawals from third-party ATMs nationwide.

A flat fee of 0.50 euros for digital bank transfers (web, mobile or internet banking) from third-party providers, in line with bank fees.

The law ensures that no bank can charge fees for cash withdrawals from its customers.
