Ukrainian armed forces have struck the oil pumping station “Unecha” in Russia's Bryansk region, the commander of Ukraine's unmanned systems forces, Robert Brovdy, said last night, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

Brovdy posted a video on “Telegram“ showing a large fire at a facility with multiple fuel tanks. Reuters could not confirm the location of the infrastructure in the video.

Meanwhile, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on “Facebook“that supplies of crude oil from Russia to Hungary via the “Druzhba“ pipeline were suspended after an attack on a pipeline near the Russian-Belarusian border.

“This is yet another attack on our energy security,“ Szijjártó wrote.

Unlike most European Union countries, Slovakia and neighboring Hungary remain dependent on Russian energy imports and receive most of their crude oil through the Druzhba pipeline, which runs through Belarus and Ukraine to Hungary and Slovakia.

Ukraine has stepped up its attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure, targeting a sector that plays a huge role in financing the Kremlin's military efforts. Oil and gas sales account for a quarter of Russia's total budget revenue.

Almost daily drone attacks on oil refineries and pipelines have led to fuel shortages in a number of Russian regions.

Russia, for its part, has stepped up its attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure despite efforts by US President Donald Trump to end the conflict, Reuters reported.
