The German automaker is developing a new electric supercar. The innovation should debut in the second half of the decade. The new electric supercar is seen as a key part of Mercedes-AMG's future.
The new supercar will be designed to improve AMG's performance as it transitions from powerful internal combustion engines to electric powertrains. It is known that the production electric car will be called Vision One-Eleven.
This car will be inspired by the experimental Mercedes C111 supercars of the 1970s. The novelty will be built on the AMG.EA architecture, which was developed specifically for AMG electric models.
The new supercar will use an 800V electrical architecture and a new cylindrical cell lithium-ion battery. The car will be powered by high-speed axial-flow electric motors.
Thanks to their very compact disk shape, which allows them to be placed in a small space, they are about half the size of conventional synchronous and asynchronous electric motors used in electric vehicles currently sold. Several different transmission options will also be available for the car.
