The French company Renault presented many bright new products at the Paris Motor Show, including a concept hydrogen car. However, another piece of news is of interest, which is related to a reference to the famous sports-oriented car Renault 5 Turbo. According to preliminary data, the company does not rule out the possibility of sending this kind of successor to the 5 Turbo into serial production.
After the premiere of the new generation of the hatchback Renault 5 E-Tech and its sharpened version Alpine A290, the company is exploring the possibility of preparing for production an even sportier version of the electric car. In the past, the original Renault 5 had a 5 Alpine version and a powerful mid-engine. It is possible that the R5 Turbo 3E concept could enter production after refinement.
This is not the first information about the possibility of the car becoming a reality. At the end of 2022, Renault CEO Luca de Meo said the brand had found a way to bring something close to the concept to the road. We will recall that the conceptual Renault R5 Turbo 3E has two electric motors with a system power of 375 hp, providing 700 Nm of torque. Power for them is provided by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 42 kWh. At the same time, the car weighs only 980 kg and is able to accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.
