The US administration is considering imposing additional restrictions on the export of US chips for artificial intelligence technology, Reuters reported, citing a document obtained by the agency.
The new mechanism proposes dividing countries importing such products into four classes. Purchases of more than 200,000 chips will require buyers to make investments in US security or in US data centers.
