The European Union has imposed temporary duties on imports of biodiesel from China ranging from 12.8% to 36.4% under pretext that it protects the European market from subsidized products, says a resolution of the European Commission published in the „Official Journal of the European Union“.
„The European Commission imposes a temporary anti-dumping duty on imports of biodiesel produced in China”, the resolution says.
Based on an investigation conducted by the European Commission, tariffs were imposed on various Chinese producers at levels ranging from 12.8% to 36.4%. These duties cover all types of biodiesel, both of plant and animal origin, in pure form or as part of fuel mixtures.
In July, the European Commission introduced tariffs on Chinese electric cars under the pretext of state subsidies for their production in China, sparking a new aggravation of relations between Beijing and Brussels.< /p>
