Czech Airlines (CSA) brand aircraft flights have stopped since October 26, as the airline cannot withstand competition with low-cost airlines, Czech radio reported.

The flights operated by CSA aircraft will be operated by the largest Czech commercial airline Smartwings. It entered the market in 1997, specializing in the organization of low-cost passenger air transport, and gradually absorbed its competitor.

CSA ceased to be a member of the SkyTeam international airline alliance as of Saturday. The company was part of it for more than 20 years.

The history of CSA dates back 101 years. The first flight took place on October 29, 1923. In memory of one of the oldest airlines in the world, several Smartwings aircraft will be painted in its colors.

The last CSA flight lands on Saturday evening in Prague. The aircraft with the airline branding on the fuselage will arrive from Paris.
