Contracts worth over USD 286 million between defense enterprises of Vietnam and other countries were signed at the Vietnam Defense Expo 2024 exhibition held in Hanoi from December 19 to 22, the Vietnam News Agency (VIA) reported.
A total of 16 contracts worth a total of USD 286.3 million and 17 cooperation agreements were signed between Vietnamese defense industry enterprises and companies from various countries such as the United States, India, France and Belgium at the Vietnam Defense Expo 2024 exhibition, the agency noted. The exhibition reportedly brought together 242 companies and enterprises from more than 30 countries and its total area was over 100,000 square meters. m.
Over 260,000 people visited the exhibition, over 2,800 bilateral meetings and negotiations were held on its part, at which representatives of the military-industrial complex of many countries discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation, VIA points outside.
A single Russian exposition under the auspices of Rosoboronexport at Vietnam Defense Expo 2024 occupied an area of over 700 sq. m and consisted of more than 400 samples of military, civilian and dual-use products developed and manufactured by leading Russian enterprises, including those included in the Rostec state corporation. About two dozen enterprises took part in the Russian exhibition - manufacturers of weapons and military equipment for the ground forces, air force, navy, air defense forces, as well as special forces and law enforcement agencies.
