A state of disaster has been declared in the municipality of Tsarevo. The local government has issued recommendations to citizens in the region, advising people living near rivers and water bodies to be on the alert, as 225 liters per square meter of rain fell in five hours. A tornado also passed through the seaside town.
The road to the village of Izgrev has been undermined and compromised, where the amount of rain that fell is over 410 liters per square meter. Traffic on the II-99 Malko Tarnovo - Tsarevo road in the area of the village of Izgrev has been temporarily restricted due to a collapsed bridge. The bypass route is Gramatikovo - road II-99 - road III-907 - Vizitsa - Pismenovo - road II-99 Kiten - Tsarevo and back, the Road Infrastructure Agency informed.
The Burgas regional administration has sent a request to the Atia Naval Base to mobilize forces, including boats and divers, to assist in the actions to control the situation in the resort village of Elenite, the administration's press center announced.
There is currently no confirmation of the information about victims of the flood.
