Prof. Georgi Chankov to FACTS: Preparations for the sale of "Lukoil" have been underway for several months (VIDEO) - 1

The topic of the future of "Lukoil" and the energy security of Bulgaria is again on the agenda. We feel very comfortable when we are given a direction - just to swim in it and support with slogans what is considered right. In fact, preparations have been underway in Bulgaria for several months for the sale of "Lukoil", involving an Azerbaijani company. This seems logical and a good solution, because Azerbaijan is close, there is a possibility of supplying oil from there. The question is for chemists to say to what extent the Azerbaijani oil is compatible with the processing capacities of "Lukoil". This is probably taken into account, but nothing is certain until a real result is obtained. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in a studio „FACTS“ and the show „Conversation“ Professor Georgi Chankov, lecturer at the UNWE.

„The issue of „Lukoil“ cannot be resolved without the intervention of the United States. And, to be honest, President Donald Trump has already hinted with his latest statements that he may decide that the sanctions are pointless and lift them. He has done it before. The problem is that we react too painfully to any signals from Washington, which often contradict each other and change according to Trump's moods, who, let's admit, changes his mind constantly“, added the guest.

„I wouldn't say completely, but I think our reactions are superficial on the topic of „Lukoil“. We are panicking without a real threat. We don't have to worry - there will be gasoline. Yes, the price will probably increase, but this is part of the life we are already used to. Gasoline is one of the products that is flexible in terms of price – there is no way, we will have to deprive ourselves of other services and pleasures. We will probably limit cultural life further, but this is the reality we live in“, said Prof. Chankov.
