Every second child in our country has experienced some form of violence - 1

Every second child in our country has experienced some form of violence by the age of 18. The data is from the UN children's organization, bTV reported.

Emotional violence is the most common type, almost every second child has experienced it. Every third child has been a victim of physical violence, almost 16 percent of children are victims of sexual violence, and 14% of online violence.

And more from the data - almost every fourth child has experienced violence at school or in their community. One third of children in our country are victims of domestic violence.

And the right of every child to live without violence is a major concern and priority for UNICEF at the moment and in the next two years. In order for every child to receive the necessary Protection and support, to live without fear and to fulfill their dreams, UNICEF continues to join forces with national and local authorities, civil society organizations, businesses, media and society. Because for all of us, the most important thing is for every child to be happy.

Actress Elena Petrova, a long-time UNICEF National Ambassador, emphasized that her commitment to the organization is not just a public role, but a personal cause and part of her life.

„I do not consider my participation in the initiative a role. It is part of my life. I am here to support, but tonight we are not important - the ambassadors or the people who help. Heroes and their stories are important, because they are the ones who reach people“, said Petrova.

According to her, the leading value that should guide society is goodness.

“Goodness should be the master of the heart. This is the true path. This is the example that I give to my children and in which I believe“, said Petrova.

The actress added that only through empathy, care and constant support can society ensure a better future for children.
