Borisov: The "Gyurov" cabinet should stop the layoffs for a while and take measures against speculation - 1

GERB leader Boyko Borisov called on the "Gyurov" cabinet to immediately take measures against speculation and the rise in prices due to the war in the Middle East, instead of "speaking in the future tense" while appointing "its party secretaries as regional governors."

„To our regret, the world is in an extremely serious war - a war on our borders, both in Ukraine and in Iran. Wars inevitably lead to an increase in fuel prices, even more so when it is in the Persian Gulf. I really hope that the war will end soon, but in any case, the repercussions are already being felt. That's why I hope that the government will not explain to us that it will take measures and speak in the future, that it will stop for a day or two with the dismissals and the appointment of its party secretaries as regional governors and whatnot, which is pure vote buying, but will also take measures regarding speculation“, Borisov says in a video on his profile.

He also calls on the new director of the National Revenue Agency and the CPC to act “even more diligently” and to propose a plan to the state that would be adopted in parliament.

„A fuel ceiling is certainly not a measure, but speculation could be fought if the government starts acting, if the Ministry of Interior with its economic units is involved in the police, to see how much fuel is imported, how much it is sold for, what the delivery prices will be, which sectors would suffer in the future. It is unlikely that everything that we will lose in a prolonged war can be compensated. So, let them get busy working and they will have our support, if the measures are as they should be“, assured the GERB leader.

Boyko Borisov also commented on the topic of Easter supplements for pensioners in his profile. "Every year, when Christmas or Easter comes, we start arguing whether there will be any and how much these supplements that we give to pensioners will be. That is why today we have introduced a law in parliament that will regulate not only these allowances, but also for people who are below the poverty line - single parents and especially children, because the holidays are for everyone. This way, no one will pretend to be generous with state money, neither governments nor parties. And with this law, by putting the money into the budget, we will be able to celebrate and everyone will feel the holidays," Borisov believes.
