A 74-year-old man died yesterday as a result of suffocation in a fire in a house in the “Vasil Levski“ district in Sofia. This was reported by the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection".
The house was heavily smoky. The fire was most likely caused by a short circuit in the electric blanket.
Firefighters responded to a total of 129 accident reports over the past 24 hours, 102 fires were extinguished. 27 fires caused direct material damage, 75 fires did not cause material damage, and 26 rescue and assistance operations were carried out. One false call has been registered.
