The Acting Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov spoke with the Assistant State Secretary for the issues of energy resources of the USA Jeffrey Payat, BNR reported.
The two met in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, where a summit of the "Three Seas" initiative was held.
According to Minister Malinov, both in the field of natural gas and in the nuclear field, the two countries have achieved key progress in terms of energy security.
The initiative of the gas transmission operators of Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Moldova for a Vertical Corridor was discussed. The development of the gas transmission infrastructure along this route is the key to energy security not only in Southeast Europe, but also for Ukraine and Moldova, they agreed during their conversation.
Earlier at the Delphi Economic Forum in Greece, Minister Malinov met with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Greece, George Tsounis.
Malinov has stated that the liquefied gas terminal in Alexandroupolis is expected to be put into commercial operation next month, which will improve energy security both between the two countries and for the Southeast Europe region.
