An interesting campaign is expected, but probably with the same results . Sociologist Genoveva Petrova from “Alfa Research” told bTV.
„The campaign is “2 in 1”, so there will be a battle for two types of elections, which, by the way, develop according to a quite different and own logic. This is the first time we will have such a combination of two campaigns, so they will be interesting to watch – which topics will prevail, which of the two votes will set the overall tone of the campaign, she explained.
According to her, there is likely to be serious tension and opposition between the island's political entities, especially in the conditions of expected low voter turnout.
„There are certain expectations related to the new faces, but the relevant studies must be done. Let's not speculate. In general, at the moment, there is no new formation that has singled out as a factor attracting people's sympathies very strongly, she added.
Genoveva Petrova noted several important things. First – a low share of people's willingness to vote was registered. Second – is expected to be relatively identical to the current structure of voter preferences, i.e. the arrangement of the parties remains almost the same (GERB-SDS, PP-DB, DPS and “Vazrazhdane”, who are fighting for the third position, BSP and ITN).
„The battle is for everything, because the campaign can cause certain shifts in the arrangement of the parties – both in terms of the distance between the top two and the battle for second place. It is still not clear whether the number of political formations in the next parliament will be smaller or larger, she also commented.
