We have holidays coming up, and in recent days the weather has shown its character again.
"A dynamic time awaits us. Today there will be more precipitation in the southwestern regions - up to 20-30 liters per square meter in the region of Sandanski and Blagoevgrad. Tomorrow, there will be more precipitation in the extreme southern regions," forecaster Petar Yankov reported in "Bulgaria Morning".
More precipitation is expected until May 4, inclusive, with total precipitation amounts of up to 30-50 liters per square meter, mainly in the western and southern parts of the country.
"There will also be thunder. Friday and Saturday will be rainy. On Saturday, the rain will gradually stop. In the afternoon it will rain mainly in the southern regions, and at night they will finally stop. Cloudiness will break, temperatures at night will range between 9 and 8 degrees, in the morning - up to 6-7 degrees," Yankov predicted to Bulgaria ONA AIR.
On May 5, there will be many hours of sunshine, as well as an increase in temperatures.
"If on the 3rd and 4th the maximum temperatures range between 15 and 19-20 degrees, on Sunday they will be between 20 and 24 degrees. On Monday, more intense thunderstorm activity and precipitation is expected, mainly in the western regions," the forecaster informed.
There will also be intense rainfall in Greece on May 3 and 4.
"Our compatriots who will be in Greece, especially along the White Sea, will have rainfall throughout the day, with thunderstorms in Northern Greece. There will be sunny hours on Sunday. On Monday, St. George's Day, there will be showers in the afternoon. The road surfaces will be wet, cars will move more slowly, but people should not leave their home until May 7," Yankov advised.
Until May 5, the thunderstorm activity, concentrated in Western and Southwestern Bulgaria, will be weaker and there are no conditions for strong hail. Stronger thunderstorms are expected on May 6 in Southwest Bulgaria, the forecaster specified.
From May 7, a prolonged rainy period with intense precipitation begins in both Greece and Bulgaria, which will last until May 10-11. Then follows a longer dry period with rising temperatures.
