A mentally ill person attacked a child with a knife in Sofia. The man is known to the whole neighborhood. The mother and the girl, who is the victim of his latest aggression, said that the attack took place on a bench in front of the block in which they live.
“We were sitting with my friends and playing on our phones. A friend recognized him and said: ”Vallo!”. He came, looked at the benches we were sitting on, twisted my arm, pushed my phone and stabbed me. We ran. My friends told two women who were nearby what had happened. But they didn't react,” said on the air of “Hello, Bulgaria” the attacked child.
The girl's mother found out about the attack about 10 minutes later than her daughter. “She said she called the patrol. She hid in the entrance and waited for the police. I came and the law enforcement officers said they didn't know the person. We showed a photo of him from a social media group. He was arrested an hour later. No knife was found in it. They detained him for 24 hours, and the next day they called me from the “Children's Pedagogical Room” to question the child”, she points out.
In her words, when she went to pick up her daughter to go to the 9th RU – the man was at home and standing in the next entrance naked to the waist. „The attacker lives in the next entrance. There is a school nearby. There is also a kindergarten. Let all responsible institutions pay attention. He bothers the children, the parents. Attacks elderly women behind the block. He is aggressive and needs help”, emphasized the woman.
