Demerdzhiev: The Ministry of Internal Affairs stands with its eyes wide shut, and votes were bought in the elections - 1

The Ministry of Interior stands with its eyes wide shut. Vote buying in these elections was a fact. This is evident from the CEC's official data on the activity and voting in certain sections. The two political forces that are now said to form a cabinet have already participated in a justice reform.

This is what former Minister of Internal Affairs and Justice Ivan Demerdzhiev told BNR.

He asked which vote-buying schemes had been exposed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"The real struggle with the bought vote has nothing to do with the imitation of one we are witnessing."

Although it is a secret for Kalin Stoyanov, it is not a secret for which political forces votes are bought, and in these elections the buyers had the "comfort of doing it undisturbed", commented Ivan Demerdzhiev in the program "Before All".

With so many "merits" that this minister has accumulated, it is normal for him to keep his post in the next government, he added.

The two political forces that are now said to form a cabinet have already participated in a justice reform. It's not comical, it's tragic, said Demerdzhiev, when asked about the possibility of Delyan Peevski writing the Law on Judicial Power.

Regarding the expected decision of the Constitutional Court on the amendments to the basic law, the former interior and justice minister expressed hope that the Constitutional Court will adopt a reasoned "decision to restore the damaged balance" between state authorities. He described the changes in the Constitution as "stillborn".

"Many of the representatives of the assembly called for the Constitutional Court to become almost a second chamber of the parliament,", he emphasized.
