The first task before the new regular government should be an update of the budget to provide funds to cover expenses that are not provided for in the current budget framework, but must be provided because of the changes in some laws. This was stated in Lovech by the president of KNSB Plamen Dimitrov, BNR reports.
Plamen Dimitrov explained that additional funds are needed in the budget for certain sectors such as energy, higher education, science and agriculture.
"The updating of the budget and the integration of these expenses, which are currently not included in the budget, but are legally regulated or already determined by a decision of the parliament, should be the first task of the newly formed government.
As a matter of course, to maintain a 3% deficit at the expense of other expenses - mostly at the expense of the capital program, which anyway is not implemented in the necessary volume and time, and with the decreasing or rather non-collecting revenue (due to the fact that we will not receive until the end of the year the second payment under the Recovery and Resilience Plan) to be able with less revenue, with a restructuring of costs, to ensure that the systems will continue to function normally. And the deficit for the 2024 budget will be respected."
Plamen Dimitrov added that people's incomes continue to lag behind inflation:
"There is accumulated tension and unresolved issues in several sectors, so we are in a hurry to address the most urgent demands of the union to the new government."
The KNSB will insist that in the next year's budget funds be provided for an increase in wages by at least 10%.
