The Administrative Court announced a seven-day deadline for deciding the case for contesting the local elections. The court ruled on the issue within the case of the disputed result of the elections in the capital, which took place on October 29, 2023.
Three experts were heard at today's meeting. They submitted a re-examination of the machine voting data. The court panel refused to question representatives of “Information Service” and of “Siella Norma“ at the previous meeting.
The lawyer of Vanya Grigorova, a party to the case, asked the court to uphold the appeal and to accept the process for electing the mayor of Sofia as illegal. Lawyer Milka Hristova added that they believe that this has been established in an indisputable way and that there is evidence for recognizing the election as invalid.
The Municipal Election Commission (MEC) believes that the established election result is correct and lawful. The OIC added that the submitted expertise proved that there were unaccounted votes for Vasil Terziev, but not for Vanya Grigorova.
Vasil Terziev's lawyer pointed out that no significant changes were proven and added that the difference in votes was in favor of Terziev.
The court obliged the interested parties to pay BGN 5,227 expenses for the presented expertise within 10 days.
