The specialized travel site Travel and Leisure, which ranked the ten most budget beach destinations in the world. Among them is the third largest Bulgarian city – Varna, which occupies the sixth place. This was reported by Nova TV.
According to the publication, the region is a promising luxury destination on the Balkan Peninsula, with the presence of global brands in the hotel industry. Lower rents are the main reason for the city's inclusion in the ranking. "Rental prices are relatively good, there is entertainment," said Alexander Georgiev.
Varna is also marked as a cultural asset on the tourist site. "Located on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, north of Greece and Turkey, the city is a medium-sized city offering access to picturesque beaches, museums, an aquarium, a lively garden, many resorts and an international airport," the ranking says.
The question remains - whether being in the Top 10 of the cheapest sea destinations is a source of pride and whether the problems of domestic tourism can be solved by attracting vacationers only with low costs.
