The Power of Good: A Cured Second Grader Donated Her Savings to a Clinic to Make Other Children Happy - 1

A second grader, saved after prolonged treatment in our country and abroad, donated her savings to make children who are going through the same path happy. For Christmas, Gabriela returned to the Plovdiv hospital with gifts for the little patients and for the medics who are fighting for their lives, reports BNT.

Gabriela from Plovdiv is one of the many children saved in the pediatric surgery clinic at the "St. George" University Hospital. When she was operated on for the first time, she was three and a half years old, but she clearly remembers that when she woke up, there was a teddy bear next to her. Now, thanks to the girl, all the little patients in the ward will have a stuffed animal for Christmas
"To warm their hearts and help them recover quickly and be happy, to keep moving forward", said Gabriela Vaneva.

"Gabi said that by giving the presents, she would want to talk to the children to give them strength and courage, that they will heal and everything will be okay", said Desislava Karasenova - the girl's mother.

To provide the gifts, the second-grader is starting to allocate funds from her pocket money. Her gesture touched many people, who also joined the initiative. And the gifts moved everyone in the ward.
The clinic wished Gabi to return again after 20 years, but already as a prominent surgeon.

"I think there is a force outside of us that helps and it is no coincidence that this child has preserved goodness in her heart. I firmly hope that she will continue our work, because medicine is truly a calling", commented Prof. Penka Stefanova – head of the pediatric surgery clinic at UMBAL "St. George".

To pass on the goodness, Gabi left an icon of the Holy Mother of God, which Professor Stefanova will hang in the intensive care unit so that it is close to her little patients.
