Political scientist: Boyko Borisov has clearly shown that the first mandate has failed - 1

Today's proposal by Boyko Borisov for a minority government indicates that the negotiations for a cabinet with the first mandate have failed.

There is no way to realize a government with the second mandate if the first mandate is not fulfilled, because in both cases the first and second political forces are involved - GERB and DPS. With a minority government, you have to seek support for every single decision. This is a very complex task.

This was stated in the show "More from the day" on BNT political scientist Georgi Kiryakov, who commented on the possibilities of forming a regular cabinet and the consultations with the president.

"There is no way to realize a government with the second mandate if the first mandate is not fulfilled, because in both cases the first and second political forces are involved - GERB and DPS. If GERB fails to implement a cabinet, there is no way that DPS will do it either. Mr. Borisov should be asked seriously the question why he ruined the "assembly" and announced that he does not want to work with PP-DB, and now he wants to govern with them again. Under the previous cabinet, there was no need for DPS, they were only needed for the constitutional changes. In my opinion, Boyko Borisov is again running away from political responsibility," he revealed.

"With a minority government, you have to seek support for every single decision. This is a very complex task. A minority government is a government of floating majorities. If Borisov can manage with two more parties, he will propose a coalition agreement, but he clearly does not see such a possibility and proposes a minority government. At the moment we have to talk about the bet of society, not the bet of the parties. Democracy is at stake right now. We are in a difficult situation and the politicians must understand where they can direct the country if there is no regular government", Georgi Kiryakov also said.
