Associate Professor Milen Ivanov: If Brendo has lost drugs, prison will not save him - 1

Evelin Banev's history is long, it is visible from the sentences - in Italy has a 20-year sentence for drug dealing. It is very reasonable for him to choose a Bulgarian prison, since in Bulgaria it will be easier to serve the sentence - there may be conspiracies. A person, when he voluntarily goes to prison, provided that he has the opportunity to continue living, most likely has a plan, we can only guess. This was commented by the former rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Assoc. Milen Ivanov in the studio of "The Day ON AIR".

"There are no untouchables in prison, there is no prison that guarantees 100% security. When the lives of such iconic figures are threatened, prison is more dangerous, he stands still there. He probably has a plan. We will find out depending on the development of the political and criminogenic situation", said Prof. Ivanov.

Before Bulgaria ON AIR, he added that it is not difficult for a person to disappear in Bulgaria. Therefore, it is not clear whether Brendo was "invisible" in the country or has actually entered through a "green border".

"It is not so difficult for a person to disappear in Bulgaria if he does not demonstrate his presence in public, where people can recognize him. The search activity in Bulgaria has been decreasing over the years, along with Banev's financial capabilities, it is quite possible that he will remain invisible," the guest also said.

In his words, Banev is not deprived of his freedom for free. The former rector of the police academy also commented on the version that Brendo lost tons of drugs.

"If someone in the underground loses tons of drugs there is nowhere to hide, the only thing that saves you is the absolute anonymity that he had. Apparently, something happened to make her leave," commented Prof. Ivanov.

According to him, the role of Evelyn Banev in the Italian drug cartels was probably at a very high level and he managed serious processes and money.

Assoc. Ivanov also commented on the reforms in the security services: "Personnel changes do not change anything, the services need serious reengineering, the state itself needs a goal that the services provide. There is a constant process of party influence in the offices, which they subordinate to the party headquarters, this is bleeding the offices.
