The Food Industry Union at the Federation of Scientific and Technical Unions in Bulgaria for the sixteenth consecutive time is organizing a national business forum "Food - taste, quality or reality", announced the organizers of the round table, which will start at 10:00 a.m. today at the House of Science and Technology in Sofia, BTA reported.
The purpose of the forum is to discuss current problems in the field of food quality from the point of view of producers, processors, traders and consumers, as well as the control and certification bodies in the country. The subject of the discussion will also be the interaction between the individual units in the food chain with the competent authorities, the role of state institutions in stimulating the production of Bulgarian food and beverages, for the protection of bona fide producers and the fight against illegal producers and importers of food and beverages. Legislation and new regulations related to food packaging requirements will also be discussed.
Experts from line ministries and state departments, specialists from scientific institutes, industry organizations, heads of large companies, consumer and employer organizations, MPs and representatives of the media will participate in the round table.
The participants in the forum will discuss the general vision and what is needed to solve the real problems regarding the quality of the foods offered on the Bulgarian market. All opinions and proposals from the forum will be summarized and sent to the departments that are relevant to the problem.
