They severely beat a tourist bus driver in front of the passengers. There had been a minor accident previously caused by a car driver who then called for backup from local people. Coming, they also attack the bus driver. He is still in hospital with a broken jaw and multiple injuries.
„The cause of the incident is a minor traffic accident – scraping the paint on both vehicles in a turn. The vehicles then stop and an argument begins between the drivers, which escalates into physical violence. The driver of the car, through a phone call, called his relatives to get involved in the resolution of the conflict, he told "Nova TV". the head of the district administration in Lukovit chief inspector Georgi Georgiev.
According to police data, a father and his two sons were identified in the video. One of them, who was involved in the accident, called the others, who arrived and joined in the brutal beating. At first they beat him standing up, then they take him to the ground and continue their actions.
The attack ends when they hear someone call the police, notes the police inspector. After receiving the signal, two police teams from Lukovit and Yablanitsa arrived at the scene. At the scene, they found the participants in the incident, who turned out to be from the village of Karlukovo.
After the authorities gather information, they manage to identify the direct participants in the beating – two men who were detained for 24 hours at the district headquarters. As of June 26, they are already free. A pre-trial proceeding was instituted for bodily injury to the bus driver.
The chief inspector appealed to the citizens to send signals promptly to telephone 112. “Every second is important for our reactions, so as not to reach a fatal end,”, he added. “What I saw on the video is the delayed reaction of the witnesses. If this signal had been submitted in time, I am not sure that these consequences would have resulted for the bus driver, added Georgiev.
NOVA also contacted the owner of the carrier company Elitsa Mihailova. She said the driver had a broken jaw, broken rib, laceration to the head and was still eating and drinking fluids through a straw.
„I personally called 112 maybe 20 minutes after the scene started and they told me that the first patrol car had just arrived on the scene. The ambulance had not been sent yet, she pointed out and specified that there had already been five reports.
Mihailova stressed that the tour operator can be heard talking to the authorities on the video even before the beating began.
