„As I look what destructive processes are going on in some of the political forces in the parliament, I will not be surprised if indeed some type of government is formed together with the support of the breakaway people's representatives."
This was commented by Atanas Zafirov, who temporarily took over the leadership of the BSP, in the program “Without Pretensions” on Darik radio. He specified that such destructive processes “go" everywhere - whether as a result of pressure or the fear of early parliamentary elections.
Zafirov explained that on Thursday there was a disturbing behavior on the part of Georgi Svilenski.
“He had submitted proposals in the rules regarding the possibility of breakaway MPs to form their own groups. I am glad that this proposal did not meet any support, but such an approach is worrying, it is not agreed with the parliamentary group and the leadership, but is a personal initiative. Maybe it shows some definite intentions”, added the temporary leader of the Socialists.
He specified that he doubts that other parliamentary forces may not be so homogeneous and some form of new assembly may be reached with the first mandate. Zafirov explained that he and Cornelia Ninova communicate within the framework of the parliamentary dialogue and their joint participation in the group.
“I really don't understand all this tension that has been created around this procedure. Ms. Ninova's resignation was her personal decision. If you are asking me if she was consulted with me as a deputy - she was not. All these stories and speculations that were spoken - about some coups, about fortresses that would be unlocked from the inside, how some group of people would change the constitution, call extraordinary congresses for some illegitimate plenums, these are false things. "Our procedure was followed correctly, accurately and clearly," added Zafirov.
