Prof. Veselin Vuchkov: Annulment of an election vote is a complicated procedure - 1

Several parties have already submitted a request to contest the election results before the Constitutional Court court.

"The Ministry of the Interior is also in debt to civil society and to the feeling of democracy and the environment in which the last elections were held. We are facing a very large volume of controlled vote, behind which there is also a very large percentage of bought vote, and we cannot isolate the Ministry of Interior from the problem. But the Ministry of Internal Affairs is not all-powerful," said former interior minister Prof. Veselin Vuchkov in the studio of "The Day ON AIR".

In his words, there are entire regions in the country that are under the control and economic dependence of either local authorities or state structures.

"I don't want to believe that there is fear on the part of the Ministry of Interior. But it would be possible to influence the bought vote, either through the regional directors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, or the heads of regional offices. Sometimes there are also local dependencies. The very structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is very sensitive to political changes. Interior ministers changed often, maybe twice a year. All these changes are felt", Prof. Vuchkov added on the air of Bulgaria ON AIR.

He thinks what is seen in the sections is shocking.

"The recordings allowed us to look into the procedure, which we could not see until now. In a day or two before the elections, in entire regions of the country, the composition of the SEC was changed, even more than 40-50%. This is also under investigation. In the report of the Ministry of the Interior, I did not see any statistics on the SRS. But they cannot overcome this ugly phenomenon. Votes are bought by those who then turn this power into economic power," the former minister stressed.

He recalled that there are drastic violations in a very large number of SICs.

When asked if there was a reason to count the vote, Prof. Vuchkov answered: "For an hour, everyone is competing as a fashion to ask for the election to be counted. A partial change of the election result could be achieved, a reversal of the entire result is much more difficult. The procedure for annulment of an electoral vote is complex.

The guest believes that the Bulgarian voter deserves the election results to pass the verification of the Constitutional Court.
