The referral to the Constitutional Court (CC) is their chance, the parties, to strengthen the confidence in the parliament. This is what President Rumen Radev told journalists when asked if he would ask for the election to be canceled. Confidence in the parliament depends on their actions in support of the fairness of the vote, the head of state also stated.
Parliamentary forces that enter the new 51st National Assembly expressed different positions regarding a possible cashing of the elections. Some of the formations declared for a complete cancellation of the parliamentary vote, which took place on October 27, and others expressed a position for a partial cancellation. Two of the parties requested a recount of the votes.
My actions will depend on what real steps and whether they will be taken by the parties in the National Assembly, answered Radev when asked if he would appeal to the Constitutional Court. It is not by chance that the legislator has granted a 15-day deadline so that all claims and motives that would justify such a serious act can be thoroughly investigated. We should all know that the strengthening of parliamentarism is the direct responsibility of the political parties, commented Rumen Radev.
The head of state participated in the 17th awarding ceremony for the winners of the “Manager of the Year” contest.
I am here to support the respectable and progressive Bulgarian business that produces a real product and does not loot public contracts, companies and banks, said the president. To welcome the business that works in productive interaction with state institutions, not compromising and corrupting them. The business that pays its taxes in Bulgaria reinvests its profits here, and does not trample the looted offshore and does not hide behind appointed persons, the head of state also commented.
