The abbot of the Chernogorsk monastery Archimandrite Nikanor went to the cathedral church "Alexander Nevsky" to personally deliver his letter to the new patriarch Daniil for leaving the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
"For a long time we have had different positions with him regarding the place of the BOC in the Orthodox family, regarding Bartholomew and Russian aggression. Having been elected, I think it is worthy to leave. I am carrying the letter along with a gift - a white veil, with which I can tell him “Your Holiness, I am resigning", comments Archimandrite Nicanor.
He announced his decision on Sunday, recalled "Nova TV".
Even before the vote for patriarch Nikanor stated that if Daniil is named spiritual leader of the Bulgarians, he will leave the BOC.
