Rosen Zhelyazkov is the most acceptable figure from GERB, who can gather the widest support. The time to seek support is shortened, and there is no publicly agreed majority. This move seemed surprising and puts GERB in a difficult position, political scientist Kaloyan Velchev commented to BNR.
"With the broadcast of a supra-party cabinet, emancipation from DPS is sought, but it will be difficult to achieve. Borisov's messages to PP-DB are increasingly confusing. I do not understand on what basis of relations will be the support, which is not sincerely desired. Until a few weeks ago, Boyko Borisov explained that the rotation did not happen because of Kalin Stoyanov, and he was in the "Zhelyazkov" office. Rather, he is seeking justification with this move for disapproving the cabinet," Velchev said.
And thinks:
"In my opinion, at least public distance from traffic police is sought, but there is no way to avoid it. Still, the DPS have no choice but to support such a cabinet. GERB will constantly need the support of the DPS in their work. I think that it is not known whether the cabinet will pass until the moment of voting. If it passes, it cannot be without a trick, the support gathered so far by Borisov is not enough. He has not negotiated any other support except with DPS, 7 is not enough for them."
Kaloyan Velchev also commented on the processes of removal of people in the DPS:
"They are not public, they are internal party and it is difficult to know. Actions speak of movement in the party. What we see on the surface seems to be “Peevski tightens the fight and controls the party to a greater extent”. How will Peevski's DPS differ from DPS?"
Velchev's forecast for the "Zhelyazkov" office is that "his future is uncertain, it will be difficult".
