Zafirov refused GERB: BSP will work for an expert and supra-party government - 1

Unfortunately, the reality in our country is very far from the textbooks on democracy. There is no social contract. Only 1/3 of Bulgarians who have the right to vote participate in the distribution of seats in this National Assembly. Today, in opposition to these democratic principles, the majority of Bulgarians are still in opposition - opposition to politics as it is and as it should be. This was stated by Atanas Zafirov from "BSP for Bulgaria". during the debates on forming a government, reported "Focus".

"Before the composition of this National Assembly there is a question of principle - does parliamentarism have the potential to work to achieve political stability or will it again be subordinated to the party and used," said Zafirov.

In his words, "the monopoly of power, played out in several parliaments", created assemblies and a struggle for power between individual political forces.

However, he said that, according to the BSP, a GERB-SDS government with the first mandate could not radiate stability and the restoration of normality. Zafirov recalled the protests in 2020 and said that some of the persons nominated for ministers do not have ready political programs for reforms.

However, the temporary chairman of the BSP stressed that new elections will not lead to a solution to the political crisis.

"We many times propose and defend the idea of an expert cabinet with a very clear political course and mandate for reforms. We believe that it is possible mainly due to the fact that the main political forces do not have vital differences in orientation or prospects for Bulgaria", said Zafirov.

He added that this National Assembly has the "potential" for the broadcast of a regular government, but it must be in the "national interest and stability".
