Code Yellow for dangerously high temperatures has been announced in 18 regions of the country for today, August 3, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) announced on its website, BTA reported.
The warning is in effect for Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Kardjali, Haskovo, Sliven, Yambol, Razgrad, Targovishte, Shumen, Silistra, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Lovech and Gabrovo.
Over the western half of the country and the Ludogoriets, cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will develop and there will be brief showers of rain and thunder. There will be hail conditions.
Over the extreme eastern areas it will be mostly sunny. The wind will be oriented from the northwest and will be weak, in the Danube plain moderate. A moderate southeasterly wind will continue to blow in Eastern Bulgaria.
Maximum temperatures will be between 33° and 38°, in Sofia - about 33°. Atmospheric pressure will increase and will be close to the average for the month of August.
On the Black Sea it will be mostly sunny. It will blow to a moderate southeast wind. Maximum temperatures will be between 27° and 30°. The temperature of the sea water is 27°-28°. The excitement of the sea will be 2 points.
Above the mountains cumulus and cumulus clouds will develop and there will be brief showers of rain and thunder. There will be hail conditions. A moderate wind will blow from the west-northwest. The maximum temperature at a height of 1200 meters will be about 28°, at 2000 meters - about 20°.
