Powerful petrol and chemical additives are the key to passing an annual technical inspection, since from July 22 a computer, not a person, says whether the car pollutes or not.

The method is spread on social networks, in closed and open driver groups, taxi chat rooms, as well as by word of mouth at inspection points.

„It is now clear that the main problem is with gasoline cars with the catalytic converter removed. Such an examination can no longer pass, even if it is driven on autogas or methane. Therefore, we advise our members to fit a catalytic converter or replace the old one if it is over 180,000 km. 1-2 days before the inspection, the car must be driven on 100 octane gasoline, filled in an almost empty tank and purchased from reputable gas stations," Kiril Rizov told the Telegraph. According to him, the method also works with 95 octane gasoline, but then special additives are needed and passing the examination is not guaranteed.

Yesterday, Transport Minister Georgi Gvozdeikov once again informed that the ceiling for harmful emissions from the exhaust has not been changed, and the only change is that the control is now carried out by a computer, which can neither make compromises nor be bribed. He also recalled that work is underway to change the departmental ordinance, after which cars with high harmful emissions will no longer be stopped instantly, but will remain in motion for 30 days after the inspection. The goal is to keep the cars running while their owners look for a way to fix the problem.

According to Gvozdeikov, since July 22, less than 2% of cars are broken during inspection.
