The rector's leadership of the University of Ruse "Angel Kanchev" announces a one-day mourning in memory of Prof. Dr. Eng. Plamen Kangalov on 05.09.2024, while the schedule of the educational process is preserved. Rector honored at the age of 62 on September 4.

Prof. Dr. Eng. Plamen Kangalov was born in 1962 in Ruse. He graduated from the "Baba Tonka" Master's degree.

In 1987, he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Agricultural Production Engineers with a gold badge of the Ministry of Education. He graduated as a mechanical engineer majoring in Organization and repair technology.

In the same year, he joined the Research Sector of the University of Ruse as a technologist, later a research assistant and doctoral candidate in the Department of "Repair, Reliability and Chemical Technologies".

Goes through the academic positions of assistant, senior assistant, ch. assistant, and in 2003 he was elected associate professor of Mechanization and electrification of crop production. He was elected a professor in 2013.

Since 2004, he has been in the dean's leadership of the Faculty of Agriculture as Deputy Dean of the Faculty, and in the period 2007-2016 he was the Dean of the Faculty.

From 2016 to 2024, he was the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of the University of Ruse, and from January 2024 he was the Rector of the University of Ruse.

Prof. Ph.D. Eng. Plamen Kangalov is a member of a number of domestic and foreign organizations and editorial boards, and his research work includes participation in research and educational projects, contracts, supervision of doctoral students. The results of all this are expressed in over 140 scientific articles and reports, 10 monographs, 12 textbooks, books and teaching aids. His honors and awards are numerous. And his contribution to the development of Ruse University is particularly significant.
