A 21-year-old driver died in an accident in Plevensko. The incident happened last night.
Around 8:30 p.m., the police in Knezha received a report of a traffic accident at the exit of the city in the direction of Pleven, reports the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (OD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs).
An inspection was carried out on the spot and it was established that a truck tractor with a trailer, driven by a 54-year-old Turkish citizen, was hit by a car while turning left. It is run by a 21-year-old. After the collision, the car deviated from its traffic lane and entered the oncoming traffic lane, where it collided head-on with another truck with Turkish registration.
As a result of the traffic accident, the driver of the passenger car died on the spot, according to the police.
The truck drivers were not injured. They were tested for alcohol and drug use. One of them tested positive for amphetamine use. He was issued a medical examination voucher and a blood sample was provided. A forensic medical examination was appointed. Appointment of chemical expertise is pending.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated on the case.
