Municipalities will receive over BGN 55 million for organizational and technical preparation for the upcoming early parliamentary elections, and the planned funds for the Ministry of Internal Affairs are over BGN 15 million. This is provided for in the detailed plan-account for the expenses and transfers for the preparation and production of the elections for people's representatives on October 27, 2024, published in the Legal Information System of the Council of Ministers, reports BTA.
The plan-account, adopted by the cabinet on August 30, describes expenses by budgetary organizations and by activities.
The costs of the Central Election Commission for the organizational and technical preparation of the elections will amount to BGN 3.6 million. Of this, BGN 1.35 million is intended for remuneration, including insurance contributions of employed under labor and civil contracts and for material and technical provision. Another BGN 850,000 will be for an explanatory campaign about the rights and obligations of citizens and the way to vote, as well as for the training of members of the regional and sectional election commissions. The costs for media packages, which will be paid by the Central Election Commission of the parties, coalitions and initiative committees, are BGN 1.4 million.
Expenditures in the amount of BGN 8,713,100 are foreseen for the Council of Ministers. Of these, BGN 3,781,400 are for remunerations, including insurance contributions, of the members of the regional election commissions. Another BGN 4,931,700 is for logistical support of the election process by the administration of the Council of Ministers and regional administrations.
Transfers to the municipalities total BGN 55,861,600. BGN 40,717,000 will be spent on remuneration, including insurance contributions, of the members of the sectional election commissions. Another BGN 15,144,600 is planned for logistical support of the electoral process.

In total, expenses and transfers in the amount of BGN 100,028,000 are foreseen in the plan-account.
