It turned out that Ahmed Dogan is not what we all expected. Raised people whom it later turned out that he did not trust. ... You cannot say about someone that he is a phenomenon, and then, after 1-2 months, say that he is of no use. And I don't just mean Mr. Peevski. "Most people who have come across ... have been affected by this thing," he added.
According to Prof. Denchev, "from a historical point of view, justice is on Dogan's side, because he is one of the founders of the party, and someone from outside, whom you have chosen, cannot come and take your party away": " The people who supported Delyan Peevski are also part of the DPS and these are most of the regional structures that are the bastions of the DPS. This shows a lot of work that Peevski has done regarding the structures of the DPS and the weaknesses of the people that Mr. Dogan relied on in the structures of the DPS. Peevski did a lot for the development of DPS. It was visible in the results they achieved in the last elections.
He predicted that the representatives of expatriate organizations in Turkey would support Dogan's faction in the DPS in the elections.
Stoyan Denchev said that he had not talked with the honorary chairman of the DPS Ahmed Dogan recently, and he had not heard from Delyan Peevski for at least 7-8 years: "Years ago I maintained good relations with him. I'm not on bad terms, but we don't have a point of intersection - I have no reason to talk to him, nor has he sought me out.
He emphasized that there are no facts, but based on indirect signs, he can claim that Peevski has "connections in the prosecutor's office and the services": "These are not among his positive sides, but they are not his weakness either. In this way, he managed to subordinate certain bodies in the state that perform certain functions in the field of security and administration of justice. But the one who eats the cabbage is not crazy, but the one who gives it to him.
Prof. Denchev expressed concern that what is happening in the DPS does not lead to ethnic tension in the country, "it is enough to find some external provocateur to ignite the spark".
Prof. Stoyan Denchev expressed the opinion that with the political situation that has arisen in the country, in which there cannot be a stable regular government, "maybe it is time to convene a new Round Table and to convene the CSNS under the President.
"It is clear that some of the political leaders do not know exactly what they want. The explanation is the lack of experience and training to be a politician," he believes.
