Parvan Simeonov: No one can say who will win the war in the DPS

What is happening in the DPS is certainly not just an internal party problem

We cannot say who will win the war in the DPS. The election will show that, and even that won't be winning the war, but a battle. What is happening in the DPS is certainly not just an internal party problem.

This was stated in the show "More from the day" on BNT the political scientist from "Gallup" Parvan Simeonov. This is how he commented on the political situation in the country.

"At the moment, Delyan Peevski has an advantage, but Ahmed Dogan can perform better in the elections. This is all speculation, of course. There are still more battles to come in the DPS, for example for the members of the SIK and RIC. We are in an unprecedented situation. The situation in the DPS will certainly affect the sociology of the elections. The respondents can say that they will vote for one, but what will be handed down to them by the local structures is completely different," he revealed.

"What is happening in the DPS is certainly not just an internal party problem. This problem concerns the whole country and especially GERB and Boyko Borisov, because they will win the elections. They will have to take some attitude and so will all the other parties. Borisov could have formed a cabinet in the last parliament, but he apparently felt too dependent on the DPS and gave up. Recently, Borisov has not stopped talking about how united he is with GERB. This perhaps shows that there is some concern about the dependence on Peevski", explained Simeonov.

"After the elections, there is some possibility of a front against Peevski, who will certainly give a serious fight in these elections. Borisov already said - leave the two DPS, they will have less influence. This is the case and it will be possible to form a cabinet of 3-4 parties without DPS. However, here we have to see what time mandate this cabinet will have. The geopolitical situation can also have an impact and eventually the Bulgarian voter will return to the topic of corruption and start voting on this basis", concluded Parvan Simeonov.
