This is what former Defense Minister Velizar Shalamanov commented on NOVA NEWS.
He is of the opinion that whoever wins the US presidential election, support for Ukraine will continue. “These are sustainable decisions taken at the NATO level”, he added.
Shalamanov also commented on the nuclear payment made by Russia. “This is an attempt to sow fear in Europe. I hope we don't give up. But this shows that the UN system is not working because one of the member countries of the Security Council, instead of working to strengthen international peace, violates all the principles of international law. And instead of fighting to limit the spread of nuclear weapons, it constantly creates tension related to threats of its use“, explained Shalamanov.
On the subject of the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, he said that the “initiated violence has led to heavy losses for “Hamas“, “Hezbollah“ and for Iran. "The Israeli army is at a high level, but the solution to the conflict cannot be solved by military means," added Shalamanov.
