The former executive director of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) - Stoyan Mavrodiev has filed a private appeal against the decision of the Sofia City court (SGS), writes OFFNews. With it, the judicial institution authorizes the prosecutor's office to issue a European Arrest Warrant against him.
Scheduled meeting
The court session on the appeal is scheduled for tomorrow, and the court announcement does not make it clear whether the accused will be present, given his long absence from the country.
Scale credit investigation
The investigation against Mavrodiev is related to a 150 million BGN loan granted to companies that are owned by or connected to businessman Rumen Gaitanski, known as the Wolf.
Legal grounds
The Sofia City Court has judged that the collected evidence gives grounds for a justified assumption that Mavrodiev committed an official crime when granting the loan in question.
According to the court composition, there is a risk that the accused will abscond, since from August 15, when he was charged in absentia, until now his whereabouts are unknown. In the courtroom, Stoyan Mavrodiev is represented by an official defense attorney.
