Over 600 residents of Kozloduy protested because of bad roads in the Northwest and blocked the section between Lom and Kozloduy with a motorcade.
They are reporting craters and landslides on the route. The second-class road is included in the emergency plan for evacuating people in the event of a possible accident at the “Kozloduy“ nuclear power plant, bTV reports.
According to people, their cars have been breaking down in recent months, and according to them, over 600 cars have been damaged. They insist that the RIA repair the road, which has so far been only partially repaired, as soon as possible.
The RIA promises that part of the road will be repaired in a major way, but for this purpose an application must be made under the “Regional Development“ program. It remains unclear when the repairs will be made.
The dissatisfied have also submitted signals with a total of 2,000 signatures to the prosecutor's offices in Montana and Vratsa, demanding that those responsible for the condition of the route be held accountable.
At the first protest on December 19, over 500 people participated in the blockade. Now, government representatives and local MPs have also been invited, and they will also be urged to make commitments.
If they are not heard this time, the protesters are considering blocking the road to Pleven.
