Trump's enemy, Jack Smith, left the Justice Department VIDEO - 1

The special prosecutor who led the two federal investigations against Donald Trump - Jack Smith, has left the Justice Department after presenting his report to Minister Merrick Garland, according to court documents published on Saturday and cited by world agencies, BTA reported.

The special prosecutor recommended and achieved in late November a suspension of federal proceedings against Donald Trump for illegal attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 elections and for concealing classified documents after he left the White House.

After consultations, the Justice Department concluded that his policies since the Watergate scandal in 1973 not to prosecute a sitting president “applies in this unusual situation”, it explained.

However, on January 7, Smith finalized and sent to the Attorney General his confidential report on the investigation of these two cases.

The Secretary intends to release the contents of the report regarding the allegations of interference in the 2020 election and send it to Congress. However, he indicated that he would not release the part of the report about Donald Trump's storage of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate after his departure from the White House. This will be in order not to prejudice his two personal assistants, who are still defendants in this case.
