A locomotive caught fire this morning at around 10.30 am at the Brusartsi railway station. It was established on site that it was independent and had no wagons attached to it, and no people were injured, according to the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Montana.
The fire destroyed about one meter of cable insulation, the locomotive was saved from burning. The alleged cause of the accident is a short circuit.
Yesterday, two freight trains collided head-on near Lokorsko - between the Kremikovtzi and Svetovrachene stations. The signal was received shortly after 4 pm. One freight train belongs to BDZ, and the other - to a private company.
Emergency and police teams were sent to the scene. Two people died and six people were injured. Two of them are in danger of death. Traffic on the line was suspended.
