Boris Bonev: Gangsters take over a municipal company with a capital of 3 billion leva - 1

Gangsters take over a municipal company with a capital of over 3 billion leva - this is how Boris Bonev from "Save Sofia" commented on the situation with the change of the director of "Metropolitan". "GERB and the economic majority of Krasyo Cherniya in the Municipal Council removed Stoyan Bratoev - these are the same people who wanted to remove him last year, when the boards of the most important municipal companies were taken over".

People who are not elected and are not known to the public are making decisions in the Sofia Municipality and this is a problem, Boris Bonev told BNT. Asked who the gray cardinals in the municipality were, he replied that these were people "who have a serious voice in the municipality, behind the mayor and the way he makes decisions".

"We ran for election to change the way the Sofia Municipality is governed and you remember very well how many times the words transparency, honest and open communication were repeated as the foundations of this unification and the figure of Vasil Terziev. Unfortunately, from the first day in the new government, we saw that things were not as they seemed from the outside. We expected that when a person from business came, he would rather build on this management model, apply it in the municipality and for the entire coalition to work in this way. Instead, for this year and a half, we, Spasi Sofia, were the initiators of several different approaches to improve communication and coordination between the parties and the mayor and his team, which usually ended with one meeting and never a second, or one attempt and never a second. And for us, this also spoke of a lack of desire for joint work.

Vasil Terziev's claim that "Save Sofia" is preparing for elections is "the most banal and easy argument that can be put forward", commented Boris Bonev and in turn asked why Terziev himself is not campaigning, namely - to work for better results for the city.

According to Boris Bonev, the skyscraper project on "Cherni Vrah" Blvd. has not been completely terminated, since the order of the chief architect is subject to appeal.

"However, the silence that I hear from the mayor and the chief architect regarding our three proposals for a permanent solution to the problem is worrying. It reminds me a lot of this case of the "Golden Age" skyscraper, where Yordanka Fandakova also issued orders that were rejected in court and then she simply said "I have no other choice, the court obliged us". The risk of this happening with the "Cherni Vrah" skyscraper is huge".
