"I feel immense gratitude to God and Saint George for this immense blessing that God has directed my steps and arranged it so that I can be part of this monastic brotherhood in the monastery. Saint George in Hadzhidimovo. We gathered around Grandfather Nathanael, the fresh-faced Metropolitan of Nevrokovsk, but he had chosen this monastery so that the brotherhood could develop and without me knowing that this monastery even existed, when we went there, it was an extremely great blessing".
Love can unite us, but it begins with attention to the person - we cannot be indifferent to the person and expect that there will be some unity, said the patriarch.
"Many people think and expect some kind of unification to occur. The question is with us what is happening, because we are the ones who look with indifference. We are the ones who prefer ourselves to others and then we expect to unite. But how can this happen when we ourselves have separated ourselves from people, because we consider ourselves something more than them," he asked.
This cannot happen without faith, His Holiness reminded:
