When you are on strike, you do not receive a salary for that time, and the transport strikers have not announced one and will receive remuneration for these 6 days. Terziev must seek a majority on this issue in the Municipal Council. This was stated on Nova TV by sociologist Rumyana Kolarova on the occasion of the sixth day without ground public transport in Sofia, quoted by novini.bg.
"GERB is currently preparing for early elections in Sofia. The strike has a political flavor," said political scientist Milen Lyubenov.
"The mayor should have proposed a new structure for the administration, and he is sitting helplessly. If the directors of the municipal transport companies have not coped, he should have asked for their resignations," explained Kolarova. Lyubenov supported her and stated that the directors are missing in this case. "The drivers are practically violating the law. The directors should be asked to resign and optimization should begin in these 4 municipal public transport companies," he added.
"The mayor's position that he will not negotiate with people holding the entire city hostage is unacceptable and inadequate. This is an unprepared person", Kolarova also commented.
"A dialogue should be held, but this situation is not normal. These are illegal actions", believes Lyubenov and added that in his opinion the people protesting will turn to the central government.
"The mayor is sitting like a statue. The central government can intervene, but the mayor must say that he wants this. There is no elegant and good solution once it has reached a conflict. These demands should not be satisfied as they are, because others will immediately come. The mayor has not put the strike as a topic in the Municipal Council. Why hasn't he done so?", asked Kolarov.
Lyubenov is of the opinion that the garbage collection companies are also heading towards protests and this is a politically prepared scheme.
