This is how Elvan Atilla described the situation in the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, torn by scandals and division - she is the creator of the Facebook community "I support Ahmed Dogan".
Chakarov could have left ten months ago if he had honor and dignity, as well as love for the community that raised him, Atilla commented on the program "Before Everyone" on the Bulgarian National Radio.
"At the time, Kasim Dal brought him to the MRF in the second way. We were critical, but always among ourselves. We never brought the "family problem" out into the open.
In the last 10 months, our group has been critical enough, but we were waiting for some solution to these three letters. And in the event that the second co-chairman is Mr. Chakarov, and we start pressuring and pressuring him, he could have left ten months ago and then things would have been much different. Why was he kicking the ball and why did this agony continue? Only he can answer. At the moment, Chakarov has turned out to be the blackest figure. Even Delyan Peevski is not that black".
Creating a new project with the people united around Ahmed Dogan is a necessity, not something imposed, Atilla explained.
"Delyan Peevski withdrew the documents from his National Conference, which he held on December 22, 2024. There are no longer such decisions, there is no such "New Beginning". Only the MRF remained. Now we are not excluded, the old Central Council is still operating and Ahmed Dogan is an honorary chairman. Very interesting situation!"
The only new thing is the submitted resignation of Dzhevdet Chakarov, which the Sofia City Court must rule on. When it is reflected, Peevski will remain the sole chairman, she also pointed out.
Elvan Atilla expects the pressure from Peevski to continue, and with it the need to create a new party.
"There is currently an elected initiative committee of 11 people who will start a debate that will lead to a decision about the rest of Ahmed Dogan's faction. They are more on the side of the youth. Young people do not have these dependencies because they have not participated in state procurements. They have not been pressured".
Ahmed Dogan will always have a special place, Elvan Atilla is categorical.
