PP created this Frankenstein, who is now arresting their mayors. I watched how the current legal framework was being created and I was against it. But they believed that they would govern and wanted these bodies of repression to be theirs. This was stated by MECH leader Radostin Vassilev to the Bulgarian National Radio.
He noted that in the cases of the mayor of Lyulin, Bartbutov and Blagomir Kotsev, it is about corruption. According to him, the individuals involved should take political responsibility, not criminal. In his words, the overreaction against the arrest of the mayor of Varna has led to the encapsulation of PP-DB in the squares. Vassilev pointed out that PP-DB is claiming that it is state repression. He believes that Blagomir Kotsev should have been charged, not detained.
Vassilev emphasized that in the recording he presented from the online meeting of the National Council of "Continuing Change" from 2023, there are much more dangerous things than in the current ones, which are related to their mayors. He pointed out that there was no reaction then, because PP-DB, GERB and DPS were in a union.
The leader of MECH also touched on the topic of the prepared vote of no confidence in the government on the topic of "Internal Order and Security". The MP explained that it has not yet been decided when it will be submitted. According to him, a broad unification of the opposition is needed in order to shake the ruling majority.
In his words, Peevski and Borisov are one and the same. Vassilev pointed out that Borisov has a big problem. Very soon he will either emancipate himself and look for other partners he can find, or he will have to form an open coalition with Peevski, he believes.
