The Ministry of Education and Science has published two orders introducing the new integral exams for national external assessment for students in grades 7 and 10 starting this school year.
According to the texts, the exams will replace the current National External Assessment for Mathematics. They will include tasks in several subjects - mathematics, biology and health education, chemistry and environmental protection, physics and astronomy, geography and economics, as well as "Man and Nature".
For grade 7, the exam will be in the form of a test with a total of 24 tasks - 18 in mathematics and 6 related to the application of mathematical knowledge in other subjects. The duration is 180 minutes.
For the 10th grade, the exam will include 18 tasks - 12 in mathematics and 6 integrated with other disciplines. The duration will be 120 minutes.
The Ministry of Education specifies that the idea of integrated exams went through an announcement and public discussion, and with the published orders it is already a fact. It is not part of the upcoming changes to the law, which will be voted on in the fall.
